Bryson Lashun Potts (NLE Choppa), has encountered many legal challenges during his career lifespan. It was all started in March 2021 when he was arrested in Davie, Florida, facing charges including burglary of an unoccupied structure, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of cannabis, and possession of Xanax.
His arrest was occurred after he allegedly attempted to retrieve a watch from a towed vehicle at a tow yard. In the result, authorities reported finding a Glock 27 with an extended magazine, an AK-47 Draco pistol, marijuana, and Xanax pills in the vehicle he was associated with at that time.

However, following the arrest, NLE Choppa claimed that he was set up, asserting that the substances found were planted and that he does not consume or own any of them. He expressed his intention to fight the charges and maintained his innocence in the judicial system.
In December 2023, Choppa accepted a plea deal in the case. He changed his plea to nolo contendere (no contest) for a misdemeanor charge, while the other felony charges were dismissed at the moment. As a result, he was sentenced to one year of probation, required to forfeit all firearms, complete a firearm safety course, and perform 40 hours of community service.
These legal issues have been significant events in NLE Choppa’s life, influencing both his personal journey and public image.
